Saddlebrooke Dog Park Board Elections
The SaddleBrooke Dog Park Association elects four officer positions each year at the Annual Membership Meeting in February. These elections are conducted according to the SDPA Bylaws and are open to all members in good standing.
Elected Positions
• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
All other board roles are appointed by the Board and are not part of the election. These currently include safety, maintenace, membership, membership database, publicity and website administration,
ELECTION PROCESS
Before the Annual Meeting, the Board appoints a Nominating Committee Chair, which has been Jim Vavra in past years. Members then elect additional Nominating Committee members. The committee prepares a slate of nominees for the four elected officer positions. The Nominating Committee slate must be posted at least 30 days before the Annual Meeting.
Voting
Elections are held by written ballot at the Annual Membership Meeting. Members vote for each office individually. Only the four officer positions listed above are elected. All other board positions are appointed by the Board. Members must be present to vote.
Annual Timeline
• December (recommended): Election announcement and call for nominations.
• Early January (30 days before the meeting): Nominating Committee slate.
•January (14 days before the meeting): Deadline for member‑submitted nominations with written consent.
• February: Annual Meeting and elections.
- February/March: Announcement of the 2026 Board Members to all members via email
